The Banner I use at the bottom of the pages is from Hit Box, they give me statistics on my site, about what pages are looked at, in what order, where you the user go's through my site, what search engine you came from and a lot more, which helps me to design and maintain my Web Site efficiently. [I hope ] Hit Box alone are bad enough for putting up banners without asking, plus all the rest as you are surfing the NET, so I use a program called NoPops, which comes from JPSoft DK, if you click on this photo link it will show what the program looks like. NOW I have been using this program since March 2002, and it works Beautifully, very, very simple to program and it works along with other programs and just sits very quietly down in right hand corner of the Tool Bar waiting for those Banners to show there ugly heads and BANG there gone. This Program is Freeware, so it cost's you nothing and I don't make anything out it, I am recommending it, because I think it is a great program to get rid of those pain in the ass Banners! Just go into JPSoft DK and look for the NoPops in there Products Page and download it, it yours. Should you need any more info from my side on it, just email me and I will answer your inquiry if I can. Enjoy it, it's FREE!!! I DO. |

After you have downloaded and unzipped the program, make sure that you have a copy on the desk top, if you don't know how to do that, just open up the START MENU click on Programs and put your cursor on the NoPops program, which puts the program and accessories out to the right, select the NoPops itself and right click on it, then the short cut menu will come up, from that select SEND TO click Desktop and there you have it a copy on your screen. First you will find that the program will sit in the task bar on the right, just waiting for a pop-up to appear, it must have a little red cross in it, that tells you it is active, if you put your cursor on it and left click it you will see that you can switch it on and off, but I always leave it on. First in Doc1, if you look you will see at the top next to Pop's, the Settings tab, open this up and tick the box that says Start NoPopos with Windows, then you wont have to worry about it as it will always be ready for action. Second in Doc1 you will see the ADD button down the bottom, every time a pop up comes on the screen just right click the NoPops Icon in the task bar and it will come up on the screen and will sit on top of anything that is on the screen. I find that the offending pop-up is normally listed at the top of the program, but I would make sure of the name at the top of the pop-up window, then in the program, as you can see in Doc2 this is a pop window and I have just highlighted the name of that window I wanted to get rid of. This automatically puts the name in the Title Window and you just click on the ADD button and it is gone, then just close the program with the X top right, the program then goes back down to the bottom and sits there waiting. The next time that pop-up window tries to load up, this program takes care of it before it can get there, some try to get on the screen but don't make it. |
