14k gold inlay/mosaic pendant, 42.3 x 27.3 mm in size and inlaid with opals along with a velvet obsidian using a technique that I developed here in Coober Pedy the opals have plenty of fire and sparkle and the velvet obsidian is a beautiful burgundy in color, this pendant really stands out with any movement, this inlaid opal flashes RED from any angle and is more than 1000% better than the photos show, there are lots of colors in this piece, NO photo can show you what this piece looks like in real life, need something different that will stand out and be looked at then this is it.

Obsidian is made from Silica same as opal, so they are Sister Stones and are a perfect match for each other for inlaying, this Velvet Obsidian comes from Mexico and it is full of different colors and patterns, just like opal in its own right, I fell in love with it when I first saw it and thought then that I could combine the two together to make some beautiful and unusual jewelry pieces.

The play of color within this opal is very good, the photos below are Not a very Good Representation of the opal colors present [depending on your monitor] but they cannot show you the richness and depth nor the full colors and pattern present within this piece as it can be seen with the naked eye in real life in the natural light, all opals need some movement to show off the colors and FIRE present, so it is hard to show you all of the above in the photos below.
