This is a One & Only Pendant A unusual Sterling Silver inlay pendant 34.9 x 17.7 mm in size and made with opal & velvet obsidian using a technique that I developed here in Coober Pedy, the velvet obsidian is so named because it has patterns in it and has a velvet look about it, almost wants to make you touch and feel it, the obsidian itself is Burgundy/Brown in color and has a touch of green at the bottom, the opals are multi-colored and sparkle with FIRE from any angle with any movement whoever buys this piece of jewelry will not be disappointed with it as it is a one of a kind and made by me, Stuart Bird of Internet Opals, NO photo can show you what this piece looks like in real life, need something different that will stand out and be looked at then this is it. Obsidian is made from Silica same as opal, so they are Sister Stones and are a perfect match for each other for inlaying, this Velvet Obsidian comes from Mexico and it is full of different colors and patterns, just like opal in its own right, I fell in love with it when I first saw it and thought then that I could combine the two together to make some beautiful and unusual jewelry pieces. The play of color within this opal is very good, the photos below are Not a Good Representation of the opal colors present [depending on your monitor] but they cannot show you the richness and depth nor the full colors and pattern present within this piece as it can be seen with the naked eye in real life in the natural light, all opals need some movement to show off the colors and FIRE present, so it is hard to show you all of the above in the photos below. The Opal Pendant is shipped within a velvet Jewelry Box along with a complimentary Display Chain for presenting as a gift or present to that someone special.
