This wire wrap opal doublet is a mixture of matrix opal and crystal opal with a tiny bit of white potch thrown in, a very unusual piece of opal, but really sparkles with movement, the pattern is like Pinfire and the play of color (see below) in the opal doublet is absolutely terrific, excellent little opal doublet and a nice piece of opal & it has made a very attractive piece of opal jewelry, it has a highly polished surface although it does not look like it in the photos, this is a one and only piece and was found, cut, polished and wire wrapped by me Stuart Bird.

However as with all opals are best seen with some movement to get the full affect of the fire that is present, the photos below really don't capture the Depth and Richness that this unusual opal has to offer as it is really a Nice Opal that is full of FIRE.

The play of color within the opal is Excellent plus this is a GENUINE OPAL DOUBLET, 2.84 cts in weight and is attractively wire wrapped in 14k gold filled wire (vermeil) and is held within prongs. (claws) Read about Gold Filled Wire Here.
