All of our opal rough is sold in Troy Ounces, there are 20 pennyweights and 31.103 grams to the ounce, 5 carats in a gram and 155.1 cts to the Ounce.
ROUGH OPAL FOR THE BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE CUTTERS:
This is a very good quality beginners opal +, it is on the thin side and what we call trace, it will make doublets or
small solids so use the photos here as a guide to what you will get, it is not picked over like most of this type of opal
on the net and then resold, I do not pick and choose, this is as I found it and is mined by me from my new claim
and is 100% Mine Run and should give the beginner or learner
+ a lot of enjoyment in trying to cut something special out of the parcel, I have include 4 triplets in the coin photo to
show what size some of the pieces will cut, the Triplets are 7x5, 8x6, 9x7 and 10x8.
Use the extra photos as a guide to what you will receive should you buy it, this is not picked
over like most of this type of opal on the net and then resold, I do not pick and choose, this is as it was
found and classed, except I have split this parcel into 4 for the beginner to buy and is
100% Mine Run, the buyer should do well out of this parcel.
Due to differences in computer monitor quality the color's shown here may vary slightly from the actual product and normally are
better in real life, Please remember that these opals are blown up so you can see right into them and the camera picks everything
at close rage, more then the human eye can.
The extra photos will show what the parcel has in the way of color, what you see here is what
you will get, I do not enhance the photos in any way and all are taken in water and direct sunlight.
The Coin is a USA 25¢ Piece, it will give you some idea of the size of the opal pieces, the photo's will give you
some idea of the color of the opal, but it will always be better in real life when seen with the naked eye under natural light, Triples
