All of our opal rough is sold in Troy Ounces, there are 20 pennyweights
and 31.103 grams to the ounce,
5 carats in a gram and 155.1 carats to the Troy Ounce.
OPAL ROUGH FOR INTERMEDIATE TO SKILLED LEVEL CUTTERS:
This excellent opal is a small parcel of Red & Green/Orange crystal & semi crystal from
the 11 Mile field, many, many excellent stones can be cut from this, it is mainly small pieces
here but all will cut a opal stone, I have include 4 triplets in the coin photo to show what size
some of the pieces will cut, the Triplets are 7x5, 8x6, 9x7 and 10x8, there is all of the
colors in the rainbow here plus a few, not much more to say the photos say it all.
The Play of color in this opal change's when viewed at it from different directions and there
are some magnificent colors in here as the photo's show you, there is not a lot waste on this
opal, it is a nice little parcel for the hobby cutter, the buyer should do well out of this
parcel.
Use the extra photos below as a guide to what you will get, it is not picked over like most
of this type of opal on the net and then resold, I do not pick and choose, this is as I found
it and is mined by me from my new claim and is 100% Mine Run
as I found it and should give the beginner or learner + a lot of enjoyment in trying to cut
something special out of the parcel.
The extra photos will show what the parcel has in the way of color, what you see here is what
you will get, I do not enhance the photos in any way, all are taken in water and direct sunlight.
The opal is sound as far as I can tell and with some wastage, the cutter
should do well out of this parcel.

The Coin used is a USA 25¢ Piece, it will give you some idea of the size of the opal
pieces, the photo's will give you some idea of the color's within the opal rough,
plus all photos are taken in sunlight and are not enhanced in any way.
