All Opal Rough in this site comes from mining underground right here in Coober Pedy and most if not all is mined by me Stuart Bird, I do handle
different qualities and quantity of rough opal, when I am lucky enough underground to find some opal that is and the parcels I sell vary from a
one ounce parcel to many ounces in weight, from potch and color ( Beginners Opal ) which is the most we find when we find it and the opal I find
varies from gray to top crystal opal, I do sell single stones when I have them, sometimes I find solid Opal Shells and skin shells from time to time
although rare that they are, I may from time to time may put a parcel of rough opal from another miner though not very often and all is suitable
for the learner right through to the professional cutter.
Please remember these are only photos of the Opal Rough and that all opals look better when seen with the naked eye in real life under natural light and with some movement, to show off there fire and colors, called the Play of Color |
