This beautiful opal doublet is made from a superb multi colored, crystal opal and the
play of color within the opal
is absolutely exquisite, the backing is of boulder ironstone and are so called boulder doublets
and as you can see it has all the colors of a kaleidoscope in there.
This opal doublet, will make a superb piece of opal jewelry,
made within a bezel or within a prong setting (claws)
as a Pendant set the way it is shown, I do not think it would suit a ring as the colors are directional.
This Photo of the opal is a good likeness of the real thing,
but as with all opal 
photos, they cannot show you all the true colors
or Fire
you would see in the real thing with some movement.
So if you think the opal looks good here,
then it will always be better
when seen with the naked eye in Natural Light.
